Neil Simon’s Fools
Directed by Doug Long
Fools, A Comic Fable by acclaimed playwright Neil Simon, is funny, silly and warm. Leon Tolchinsky, a young teacher excited about his first tutoring position, arrives in this Russian village to find the people sweeping dust from outside back into their houses, as well as doing and saying a host of other odd things. He learns that the town has been cursed with stupidity for 200 years, and it’s his job to break the curse in one day, or be cursed himself, and, of course, he’s fallen deeply in love with his student. Bring your picnic baskets, blankets or lawn chairs, and enjoy the beauty of the Arts Center courtyard for this light-hearted production.
