I am using the COD lists for this because over the years many of you have interacted with Jane Heckman. She has been very involved in a variety of ways with the COD community - most recently with the Older Adult Institute.

I regret to inform you that she died peacefully last night. Jane had just turned 89. She was the "Woman of Distinction" two years ago. She lived a life of service and was a great organizer. I just received an e-mail from a person who met Jane 10 year ago in the cafeteria - he said he was sitting there rather down when Jane walked in, saw that he was looking depressed, and struck up a conversation that, in many ways, changed his life. That was Jane.

If you want information on services etc. please get back to me. Please pass this on to those you think would want to know.

She had a fantastic life of service and I'm sure she is now organizing the universe.
