Happy New Year
The Officers and Board of CDAA would like to wish you a prosperous, healthy, and joyful New Year. If there is anything that we can do for, you please contact me at President@PROTECTED
Your CDAA Officers are elected to serve a two year term and can be elected to no more than two consecutive terms if so desired. Both the President and Vice President positions are up for election this June. If you are interested in running for either of these positions, would care to express your opinion on who should run, and/or would like to be included in a discussion about the roles, responsibilities, and time commitments of holding either office, please contact me at Preseident@PROTECTED.
Thank You Kathryn Golden for collecting stories from many of our members and editing the Chatterbox. If you would like to contribute to a future Chatterbox edition, please submit a paragraph or two describing what's happening in your life to Kathryn Golden via email to Chatterbox@PROTECTED or mailing the item to her at 56 Michael Rd, Bridgewater MA 02324.
Health Insurance Reimbursement
On December 1, 2017 I sent a letter to all members on our mailing list about Health Insurance reimbursement. Just in cased that letter got lost I am reprinting it below.
It's that time of the year again. A time full of joy and giving. A time for family and friends. A time to reflect on all this world has provided. And a time to turn in your proof of payment for health insurance reimbursement to the College of DuPage!
Depending on what contract or “deal” was in place at the time that you retired, you may be eligible to receive some amount of reimbursement for your out-of-pocket health care insurance costs. If you are unclear if you can receive reimbursement for health insurance, please contact the HR Department at the College of DuPage. CDAA/SUAA has no legal authority to get such information.
It is my understanding that the College of DuPage does not intend to notify you of your eligibility nor the procedures for any possible reimbursement. Luckily, you have CDAA/SUAA to help guide you through this process. I personally contacted the College's HR Department and asked for information on documentation and procedures. I learned that there have been some minor changes this year.
I would like to thank Beryl Mosley, benefits specialist at the College of DuPage Human Resources Department, for providing the following to me so I can send it to you.
