This week on Music Fridays @ Noon:
COD alumna, mezzo-soprano Kirsten O'Donnell will present a voice recital this Friday at noon in MAC 140, accompanied by pianist William Buhr. Her program will include art-songs, opera arias, and songs from musical theatre.
Kirsten O’Donnell, an alumna of College of DuPage, holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from Lawrence University, and will be pursuing a Graduate degree in Opera Performance in the fall of 2016. While at Lawrence she performed a wide variety of shows spanning straight theatre, musical theatre, and opera. Some of these roles include Nancy Waters in Britten’s Albert Herring, Mae Jones in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, Jesus in Godspell, Nora Clitheroe in The Plough and the Stars, and Ma Moss in Copland’s The Tender Land. Performing in Master classes with Dale Duesing and Heidi Stober, she has been praised for her versatility and artistry. She has had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of Jennifer Barnickl-Fitch, and Joanne Bozeman.
